Course Description:
The emergence of Monkeypox outside of endemic areas has challenged health systems globally. After slow initial response, vaccinations and therapeutics are being rolled out. This is an evolving situation with recent and evolving CDC-issued Interim Clinical Guidance for the Treatment of Monkeypox.
Course Outcomes:
1. Describe the origin of current epidemic clade fo Monkeypox virus, its global epidemiology, and transmission.
2. Explain the clinical presentaiton of Monkeypox and its prevention, vaccinations, and treatment.
3. Describe appropriate workplace risk mitigation and personal protective equipment.
4. Define ethical considerations and future research questions.
