Course Description:
Re-evaluation and implementation are needed regarding Stress First Aid (SFA) in Veterans Health Administration (VHA) for issues resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. Healthcare workers may consider dynamic, ever-changing and assessed policies. Extra assistance may be needed to fully deal with stress and burnout resulting from more systemic sources, especially regarding additional support during a public health crisis.
Learner Outcomes:
Upon completion of this journal CNE module, the learner will be able to:
1. Understand the rationale for and components of the Stress First Aid Program (SFA).
2. Cite the reasons certain occupations were identified as “high stress”
3. List workgroup-related positive outcomes of the SFA program in healthcare workers in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) during the Covid-19 pandemic.
