Course Description:
Physical work done by nurses can create a strain on the body. This article describes a study that looks at whether different bed positions affect the usefulness of slide sheets (SS) in easing the strain.
Learner Outcomes:
Upon completion of this journal CNE module, the learner will be able to:
- Identify the risks to bedside nurses associated with manual lifting to reposition patients in bed.
- State the possible advantages to utilizing low friction slide sheets to re-position patients.
- Understand the strengths and limitations of this study and explain why the results may not be generalizable.
